10 Signs You’re Falling In Love

Signs You’re Falling In Love

Falling in love can feel like one of the most exciting, strangest, and scariest feeling all at the same time. It is one of the most complex but joyous feeling a human being can experience. Of course, each individual is different when it comes to falling in love, however, there are a few similar signs and indicators to look out for when you think you might be falling in love with someone.

  1. You can’t stop thinking about them

One of the biggest tell-tale signs of falling in love may seem like the simplest – you can’t stop thinking about them…and I mean they are on your mind from the minute you wake up, to the minute you go to sleep. Your feelings towards them are at the point where they are dominating your thoughts. It is different from just having a crush where you can go about your day, because when you are falling in love every bit of your day will somehow lead back to them; the song you hear or the objects you see become constant reminders of them.

  • You feel happy and nervous at the same time

You get the feeling of butterflies in your stomach – the amazing, ecstatic, but also nervous feeling you get when you are with them or thinking of them. When you are in love you are on a natural high – you tend to always be happy and you smile at the thought of them or even when they pop up on your phone. You get nervous because you so badly want the relationship to last or for them to stick around so end up worrying what might happen if it doesn’t work out.

  • Everything feels exciting and new

When you find yourself falling in love, even the simplest activities such as going to a fast food restaurant, watching a movie, or going for a walk can feel like the most exciting thing in the world when you are with the right person. You would be willing to watch a 3 hour documentary on something you aren’t interested in, just to do it with them.

  • You want to spend all your time with them

Because everything is new and exciting, you want to constantly spend your time with them, and when they’re not around you find yourself not enjoying things as much. You are constantly happy when you are around them and want that to last so you end up spending most days, if not every day together.

  • You want them to meet your family and friends

You want to introduce your newfound love interest to your family and friends especially for the seal of approval. It would mean everything if they all got along because you see a future with them, so this is an extremely important step.

  • You want them to be happy

When you are in love with someone you generally start feeling more altruistic than usual. You go out of their way to make them happy without ever expecting anything in return. You also are scared to make them feel any less than happy due to the fear of losing them if you do.

  • You get a little jealous

A little bit of jealousy is normal, especially when it comes to new love. You feel yourself starting to scrutinise all the little details and begin feeling jealous if they are spending more time with someone else or being friendly with the opposite sex. However, it should not get to the point where you are checking their phone without them knowing, or worse yet, showing up to a place you know they will be just to check on them. A little bit of jealousy is natural because you want them to be exclusive to you and you only.

  • Things feel easy

When you are feeling that natural high and falling in love, your relationship feels easy. You might not even argue at all, or it might just be insignificant bickering. These small upsets are so minor in the grand scheme of things because your love and relationship comes first, not your pride.

  • You are comfortable around them

This might seem pretty obvious but being comfortable with someone can bring on a special sense of warmth and comfort. Let’s be honest; we are all a little weird, especially when you are fully comfortable and relaxed with someone. When you no longer worry about making bad jokes, pulling funny faces, or having to impress them is when you know you are fully comfortable around them which is why you are feeling yourself fall in love.

  1. You think about a future with them

Maybe you’ve thought of who will take whose last name, or what your babies will look like, or planning all the holidays you want to take together; but you have definitely thought or even spoken about your future together. You want them to stick around and believe they will, so you want them to be there for it all – you are a package deal after all.

Falling in love can be scary because you want it to last and you don’t want to hurt them or get hurt by them. However, it is the most exciting thing to experience and if you are feeling the above signs, then go all in, you never know what can happen when you let yourself feel and open up.
